Patrick: Maui Update

Hey guys-

How goes it in da land of da pasta?

Hope the late spring was windier than on Maui! ...out here, I hate to say the last one was probably the worse month of May I've seen in more than 10 years! It's like the Tradewind fan went out of power or something. We had a couple of very nice surf sessions, but the recent return of the Trades was a big welcome by everyone. We had a few fun days with decent waves and then strong Trades with smaller stuff. Went out and putsed around with my new GoPro camera that I had not been able to use for much too long. Still experimenting and getting the hang of the various mounts and set ups, but the results are quite interesting. Hope to tweak some different mounts and maybe set up some side-arms to get more full-blown perspective to include more of the board/sail/rider ...nice to have the brain in gear and add another dimension to the sessions. That little camera works wonders, definitely recommend it for anyone who wants to have a little fun and document their sessions!

At the moment, the Trades took a short break before they return in coming days, but not to be resting, there is a series of south swells hitting the island and the surf has been unreal out there! It's nice to mix it up a bit.

Other than that, starting to look forward for summer travels. Should be taking of at the end of the month and looking forward to change of scenery and catching up with friends and family on the road in addition to sailing to different spots with different conditions.

That's the latest from The Rock.

Much aloha,

Patrick
