PKRA GERMANY IS OVER
RRD team riders had a great fight in Germany waters and achieved a very good final result:
in the racing discipline Julien Kerneur scored a great third place overall while Tomek Janiak scored a very good 8th place overall riding his production K-Race 65 and the 3rd place in the production category. Very Well Done Guys!
In the freestyle discipline,
our Seb Garat suffered an elimination in the second round of the single elimination that make him impossible to achieve a position that suit his world class style.
Final Overall ranking:
1. John Heineken (USA)
2. Adam Koch (USA)
3. Julien Kerneur (FRA, RRD Custom Boards)
8. Tomek Janiek (POL, RRD K-Race 65)

Arianne: on Dutch mags
Dear all,
Here a small media update. The first 2 pics are an interview with me in the
Dutch Windsurf magazine. And there is also an article in the Dutch
'Motion' Windsurf Magazine, about the lives of windsurf chicks, and I'm in it too.
I don't have this one in pdf yet, so I just sent it as a picture along.
Kind Regards,

PKRA GERMANY - DAY 6 - ANOTHER BULLET FOR KERNEUR
Super light wind in Germany, only one race fnished and Julien Kerneur strikes another victory, the third for Julien during this event!
At 3pm the wind was fairly light but higher than 6 knots confirming the new rule to start the course racing discipline. The three leaders of the ranking were on the exact same kite, a 17 meters, and kept on crossing each other throughout the course. Kerneur (FRA, RRD Custom boards) remembered pumping with his legs by pushing on the board to gain some speed and managed to go faster than the others on the last reaching tack, he went on to win the race.

PKRA GERMANY - DAY 5 - FOG AND PODIUM FOR RRD RIDERS
Foggy weather welcomed the racers to this fifth day in St Peter Ording. The American riders have continued to lead the group today; John Heineken and Adam Koch have lead most of the races. Our French rider Julien Kerneur however is following very close behind.
Julien Kerneur (FRA, RRD Custom boards) is happy to have finished most of the races in third place in front of his friend Olivier Dansin (FRA, North), he now beats Dansin in the overall ranking of the PKRA 2011. This is now the third event in which we have witnessed the French team go head to head with the Americans, they still lag behind a little but the gap is getting smaller at every event.
After 10 races, 0.2 of a point is all that separates Adam Koch (10.8) and John Heineken (11) from each other. Meanwhile Julien Kerneur has secured his third place well with 19 points, holding the gap between himself and fourth place Dansin who currently holds 30 points.
Very good performances also for RRD Polish rider Tomek Janiek who scored a 5th and a 4th place in race 9 and 10 and raised to the 7th position overall, holding a great 3rd position in the Production ranking.

Jordan Reid video
Hi,
Here's a great video our team rider Jordan Reid made at the AWT -
American Windsurf Tour event in Punta San Carlos, Mexico.
Jordan came in first in the Amateurs division and second in Juniors.
Jordan has been an avid freestyler and is also a talented racer that came in
first at US Nationals in Juniors but only really got in to wave sailing this Spring.
He will be on RRD sails as well next season!
Team rider Royn Bartholdi came in second in the Masters division and
now has a very strong lead in the overall Masters ranking.

PKRA GERMANY - DAY 4 - KERNEUR HOLDS THE PODIUM
The fourth day in St Peter Ording began with clouds and rain resulting in an action free morning for the PKRA. Towards midday the clouds began to clear and the wind picked up leaving us with a beautiful sunny beach to begin the first race of the day (Race 7). As the spot was perfectly flat a three buoy course was set with a starting line far out to sea.
John Heineken seemed on form today, he won the first race in front of his friend and challenger Adam Koch . Julien Kerneur (FRA, RRD) looks like being the only rider able to challenge the "Stars and Stripes" riders and scored a good third place. Very good performance also for Tomek Janiek (POL, RRD) who crossed the finish line in 5th position.
2. John Heineken (USA, Ozone)
3. Julien Kerneur (FRA, RRD Custom Boards)

For Race 8 the conditions were a lot stronger out there on the start line and riders claimed to be overpowered on their twelve meters kite. Kerneur had the same problem and estimated 20 to 25 knots on the starting line for Race 8.
Julien explain to us his strategy to stay within the bands of wind whilst racing: “If you feel that you are losing speed and that you might be leaving the band then you just look on the water surface to see where the gusts are moving. You can then tack accordingly to stay within them.”

Roberto Ricci @ NWF
Roberto Ricci himself this year will attend and race at the NWF
(National Windsurfing Festival), the most popular and important
windsurfing event in the UK.
You can find more info about this great event just here below:
---
UK's biggest windsurfing event The National Windsurfing Festival (NWF) comes
home to the shores of Hayling Island, near Portsmouth on 3-4 Sept 2011. This
unique event originated in 2006 with Allan Cross - a major in the British
army - who also shares a major passion for having fun in life via
windsurfing. With a lot of help, Allan and his team have enthusiastically
carried this event forward into its' 6th very successful year, to become a
global benchmark for many other similar fun and freeride events around the
world. Focusing solely on promoting a fun and feel-good spirit amongst the
UK freeride community, NWF features 6 industry sponsored master blaster
events, with 2 main fleets for freeride and national level sailors. Each
funrace has additional prizes for older pre 2000 and pre 1985 equipment in
addition to the normal age and gender categories; NWF even promote a prize
for 1st fancy dress plus team racing. A capacity fleet is expected to fill
every one of the available maximum 350 on water entries, attracting interest
and entrants from as far away as the Netherlands.
UK windsurfing gurus Ant Baker, Jem Hall, Simon Bornhoft, Sam Ross, Jim
Collis and newly discovered guitar virtuoso Peter Hart will all be on hand
and conducting clinics between races throughout the weekend, while OTC
provide "come&try" hands-on taster sessions. The event also hosts the UK's
biggest windsurf trade show with the new 2012 products all up close and
personal. The British Slalom Association runs a special Turbo 15 class,
especially catering for young riders up to the age of 15. As the sun sets,
it's time to switch on the lights in readiness for the awesome Spartan
sponsored night windsurfing extravaganza ! These boys (and girls) don't hold
back !The BSA Turbo 15 hit the water first with their multi colored glow
sticks and partner up with the pro's, then it's the freeride night master
blaster, before the pros go out to do battle to win the prestigious title of
NWF Night Windsurfing Champion. Back onshore things really light up with a
1000 strong Hawaiian themed beach party entertained by The Heathrow Jets
blasting 'til the small hours. Roll on Sunday, when it's more of the same
please, but with the new addition of a NWF Freestyle competition.
Extra special this year is the introduction of the first National SUP
Festival (NSUPF), geared once more towards fun and broad based sport
participation rather than hardcore competition. This event really does turn
the normal spectator into a "competitor" in its fun fuelled festival weekend
for all abilities and ages. Bring it on!

BRITISH WAVE SAILING STAR JOHN SKYE SHOWS OFF HIS INCREDIBLE SPRING SESSIONS FROM SOUTH AFRICA, MAUI AND MOROCCO.
We thought we’d kick off the week with this astounding round up of John Skye’s (RRD / MFC) action packed spring. Skye scored insane conditions in Cape Town, Maui and Morocco this spring and he has managed to capture it all and serve it up in seven mind-blowing minutes.
The clip is loaded with monster backloops, slick aerials and super-late smacks that will get you raring to hit the water. Skye was seen pulling the finest double forwards of his life in competition in Tenerife and it’s no wonder after training sessions like these.
