The work is done... time to wait for some wind!

Luca tests if 6-8 knots conditions were suitable

6-8 knots are enough to enjoy kiteboarding!

Forecasts were not so promising for this first event of 2011 Italian K-Race Tour, but when something like 6 to 8 knots of wind shows up at the beach, was more than enough for Luca Marcis to launch his 16
Addiction MKII, grab a K-Race and plane at an impressive speed on the sea water surface just in front of the spot!

After this impressive view, many guys at the beach start putting on their wetsuits asking for an Addiction and a board to test. At the end of the day feed back were unanimous: this new equipment allows to
enjoy conditions that usually you neither thought being like suitable.
The hours and hours dedicated at the development of this equipment is more than evident and paid off!

The typical feed back after a session with the Addiction was: "It's unbelievable! It's perfect! Nothing to trim, and it's so easy to carry! It's the first time I use it and I feel like I always used it!
I'm stocked how quick is still improving the equipment!"
So at the end of the day, even if it was no possible to held any race, at least a couple of hours of good free test gave some new arguments for the classic beach talking you have on a kite spot during no wind
day!

Next event of the tour will be next week at Pointbreak Fregene.

  1. Hello,

which Fins is using Luca for racing? Because it looks like he is not using original fins. Thank you for your answer!

  2. Ciao Mike, Luca is using original fins, 32 cms on the front front and 28 cms on the back. And he said that with this size he had the best angle and best upwind and board was not so phisical, especially when the wind start improving during the last races.
Roberto, Abel and Wherter (RRD kite designer) made a huge work to develop proper fins for K-Race 65 and actually the production fins are still the best combo.
Before the first competition, looking at the fins size that other guys are using on racong boards, also Luca was a little worried to sue "small" RRD production fins setup.
But after the first (winning) race, he understood that Roberto was right, and that production fins combo delivers great performance with K-Race 65.
    Hope this answer helps.
    Take care.
