Dario: BLOWING UP!!!

Ciao everybody,
check it out Dario Ojeda rocketing in Pozo on his brand new RRD Harcore Wave Contest boards!

Hi friends,
Yesterday we had tipical Pozo winds,I think we had gusts over 40 knots.
Long time that the wind didn't show up so strong.
Only the best one and the one with big ball could managed to do some
really high jump, so it was a show for the people at the beach.
Pics secretpoints.

Arrianne Aukes: fourth place @ PWA Bonaire

Dear,
Just a small update from the PWA here in Bonaire. Today was the last
day of the event, and we had really good wind.
After two double eliminations this week, where I finished 4th two
times, I finished fourth place overall today. I'm really happy with
this result.
It is such a good feeling to get a good result after training a lot
this year, and it gives me even more motivation for this year and the
upcoming events.
I want to thank you, my sponsors for your help and trust, and for your
help to get to this result! Next up is Aruba, and I will do my best
again :)
Thanks!

NISSAN-RRD ONE HOUR CLASSIC 2011 OFFICIAL VIDEO

The 2011 NISSAN-RRD ONE HOUR CLASSIC was a great success,
so waiting for my official post about this great event you can have a look at the official video to have an idea about the perfect organization behind this event...

Pascal 2nd at Transjai

After the great 7th place at the last PWA Slalom World Cup in Costa Brava,
Pascal Toselli strikes another great result in a big event in France...
Check it out!
---
Again the wind was blowing on the spot of Jai, where the 11 to 13 of
June it took place the "Transjai"
110 riders on the starting line and the wind blowing between 15 and 20
knots allowed us to start 7 race during the three days of racing.
All participants were highly motivated to perform well this year and
there were really nice fights for all levels..
From my side I finished 2nd and and I fought really hard for first
place against Pierre Mortefon.. After some rounds that lasted more
than 20 minutes we finished with a few meters of difference... as well
we finish with one point of discard on the overall ranking...
This race allowed me to train hard and tune my settings for my medium
wind gear... as well it was a good training for Aruba, which starts in
a few days..
I used my 7.8m and 8.6m Point-7 AC1 and my 112 and 122 RRD Xfire..
I takes off to Aruba Friday very very motivated!!
---
A+
Pascal

Kuba: Closer to the PWA...

Here you can find some update from our team rider Jakub Kosmowski:

"During the event in Bonaire I'm still training for the upcoming event
in Lanzarote which start on the 30th of June. I can't wait to go
against all the guys after a 2 years without competing. Last weeks in
Fuerte were really good. most of the time I was using my Simmers 4.8
and 4.2 Blacktips. I was using only RRD 88 which suits perfectly for
those conditions. I'm sending few pictures from last session in
Sotavento.
You can go to my website Lessons page to find out about the upcoming courses
which will happen in July and August.
I set my release dates for freestyle podcasts. It will be one before
the Lanzarote event and then the second one right after the event.
Greets and stay tuned!

Tomek Janiak wins 2nd Polish Kite Race Cup event

Congratulations to our Polish rider Tomek,
who is demonstrating his great skill and determination over the
national and international racing fields.
Here you can read his report about his last victory.
Very well done Tomek!
---
Hi all,
I am pleased to inform You, that I won 2nd event of Polish Kite Race
Cup "Infosys Molosurf Kite Cup" .
The first day of competition brought cloud cover and very strong and
gusty wind from the west, such conditions were good for heavy riders
like me (83 kg).
We managed to ride 4 races, so the judges and competitors finished the
day in a good mood, determined to fight on next day.
Sunday also proved to be a very successful day, because of the wind
direction - south - very spectacular for the viewers, as well as its
strength (12-18 knts) – We was able to ride 8 races.
I won 9 of 12 races with my most serious rival (Blaszko), and it was a
revenge for the last event, where the order was reversed.
Closing and prize giving ceremony was held at the Molo kiteschool
(foto).
It was great victory of RRD equipment over NKB, as well, and generally
event was dominated by RRD equipment meaning K-Race 65 ( 3rd and 4th
used the Krace 65).
Next competitions for 2 weeks in Rewa and after Word Championships on
Sylt, so…. keep your fingers crossed!
currently in overall ranking after 2 events I'm on 1st position! :

The Santa Cruz Classic - California

1st event of the American Windsurfing Tour (AWT)
Photos by Kevin Pritchard/ MauiNerdProductions
Here We Go Again!
It has been a while since the last US Championship, the last one was
in 2000. To me, it almost feel like it was yesterday. To have won
that last American Wave Sailing title push me onto a Pro Windsurfing
career. And 11 years later I'm still here and very exited to finally
have the opportunity to defend my title. Ready to battle it out with
the new guys, the young ones, and the ones that I have been in the
game for a while and like me are not going to give it up.

People were particularly stoke to finally see another event on one of
their best American wave sailing spot. Especially the locals, who
many of them spend time and energy to give a hand to the organization
and sweet running of the competition.

The new generation of young guns were also particularly motivated.
About 8 kids (under 18), were battling it out for the Junior's
trophy. For most of them it was their first wave sailing
competition. Such contest gives the youngsters an extra reason to
progress and push their limits. Events like this Santa Cruz Classic
are very important to insure a renewing of young rider in our sport.

In the Expert division, that first event of the AWT had gather an
impressive panel of national and international pro riders including
three world Champs (Josh Stone, Kevin Pritchard and Francisco Goya), a
handful of Hawaiian references such as keith Teboul, Francisco
Portcella, and Kai Katchadorian, and legendary names such as Ian
Boyd. These are guys that intimate you with their reputation alone,
and then you got other international rider like Camille Juban who
given the right sailing conditions could win any international
competition. And there are also the more discrete riders that are
just as dangerous on the water, such as Nathan Mershon.

With such a list of rider battling it out in this 32 men Expert
ladder, the show was guaranty to go off. The man to beat turn out to
be Nathan Mershon, who was on top of it and wining all of his heats
including the final.

On my side, I felt good out there doing my thing, but feeling good was
not enough this time to beat an on form Nathan, and a Josh Stone
having fun. The level on the water was very high and a lot of heats
were too close to call for most spectators. For the judge, even
equipped with the latest Ipad technology to facilitate the judging
calculations, it must have been pretty hard to judge some of these
heats. But with an experience Wold Champ as a Race Director, Matt
Pritchard, the entire event went off with out a noticeable itch.

This competition marked a beautiful return for the "Santa Cruz
Classic", and a successful first event on this brand new American
Windsurfing Tour. Rendez-vous now mid June for the 2nd leg of this
championship on another prime US wave sailing spot, located on the
magnificent Oregon coast line.

GPS windsurfing rally - Torbole 4-5 giugno

COAST TO COAST GPS WINDSURFING RALLY - TORBOLE 4 - 5 GIUGNO 2011

in acqua!
arrivavano a 18-20 nodi.
Lariospeed.it, Max Riboldi, Ivan Acquaroli e Billy Santoni che come
alfabetico).

Luca Marcis 3rd @ Capo del Capo 2011

Italian all-rounder Luca Marcis is not just a talented kite racer who is leading the italian Kite race championship winning the first 2 event of the season,
but he also proved his great skill in wavesailing due to his surf roots, achieving a great 3rd place in the latest italian wave competition "Capo del Capo", an event held in one of the most challenging spot of Mediterranean sea: Capo Mannu.
Here you can read his report in italian language, soon in English language too...

---
Capo del Capo 2011 by Luca Marcis

Costa Brava slalom - Jesper

RRD teamride Jesper Orth got a 21'th place. Before the last day he was
in 26'th and also out of the top 24'th price money. To a big surprise
for many the last heats of slalom got started on the last day, just
before the official closing time of the event.
Jesper says:
"I knew the last round of slalom would count a lot and I wanted to
jump to at least to 24'th place to get a "bite" of the price money.
All the guys in 21-27 position was nearly in the same heat, so we
could battle it out very direct. I managed to qualify to the semi
finals (top 16) and could see non of my closest competitors made
it :). In the looser final I made a 12'th place and was pretty stoked
as I knew that would secure me the 21'st place"
"I used the RRD Xfire 122, 112 and 102
I can't wait to do a few more events"
Cheers
Jesper

Skyeboy: Back home

In the end Moulay turned out to be a great trip. The wind was not
quite so reliable as normal, but we still had plenty of good days on
the water, including 2 or 3 really classic days. Now we are back to
Gran Canaria and it looks like the summer winds may have finally
kicked in over here now. Its not been the best early summer, but
finally the NE trades are starting to settle a bit. I have 1 week to
get some sailing in before I am off again, this time to Italy, to RRD
HQ. Going to pick up a load of new toys for me and Dario, so pretty
excited!
