Dutch Freestyle Championship 2011

Dear all,

Here a small update from cold, but windy Holland.

15&16 octobre was the last stop of the Dutch Championship Freestyle Tour. The tour includes three weekends where the participants have the opportunity to show what they can do, if there is enough wind at those days. The first good day of the tour was 9th of October at Amstelmeer. It was really cold, but there was just enough wind to keep a competition.

My two hardest competitors were Sarah-Quita Offringa (World Champion) and Rolien Cears (Dutch Champion 2010). I won against Rolien, and this secured me at least a second place during that event. Anyway, during the competition, Sarah Quita gave up because she was too cold. That was great lucky for me, because Sarah-Quita is still a level higher than me, and I ended up being in first position.

There was no wind at the last stop of the Tour at Lauwersmeer last weekend, so I kept my position of first place in the Women results and became the Dutch Champion Freestyle 2011.

I'm super happy with this result, as it is nice to have such a good result in my own country and to become for the first time in my life Dutch Champion!

Next week I will go to Brazil to train for the PWA Tour of 2012, and I will keep you updated and try to make some nice photo's.

Bruno is ready for KSP Peru

After the brilliant 5th place scored at the first KSP event in One Eye, RRD International team rider Bruno Bordowski is ready to bring his RRD Religion kites and RRD Gitana V2 boards on Peru rolling waves for the second KSP event that will be held in Pacasmayo (Peru) from 19th to 28th of October.

We're pretty sure we'll see again some radical action from down there!

EPISODE 4 - Cross Training - by Fabrice Beaux

Down the line windsurfing is my specialty, I love it. Especially when the waves are mast high or bigger, long and hollow, with side off shore wind smoothing off their faces. This type of wave sailing conditions is what I live for, train for and search for. I dedicated my life to it, and my sponsors have helped me achieved my dreams of riding perfect waves around the world.



Living on the island of Oahu has been perfect for my lifestyle and to satisfy my passion for riding waves. But even when you live on a Pacific Island Wave Magnet, you don't get perfect windsurfing conditions everyday. My goal is always to be on top of my game for when those perfect conditions roll around. I need to be used to my equipment and be in good shape all the time and this is where training and cross training comes in.

It is great that my main sponsor, RRD, makes all the water-sport toys that I love to use, obviously great windsurfing board but also the top kiteboarding equipment on the market, and a wide selection of high performance surfboard: short board, longboards and SUPs. I am very proud and stoked to use all of the RRD product for my training.

Kiteboarding: I love to kite board when there are no waves and the wind is good, I know I am not missing out on Wave Sailing and I can practice big jumps on flat water. Now a days learning how to kite is easy due to how good the equipment is, and when you have a windsurfing background it is even easier. This year I have been using a 10 and 8 meter RRD RELIGION KITE with a POISON 41 freestyle twin tip board, and it has been so much fun.

SUP: I have been using the new 8'11 SUPPER, and I have been very happy with its performance. This board is the most versatile of all boards. It can be surfed in small or large waves, be used as a windsurf board, and it is still big enough for flat water cruising. SUP is the perfect Cross Trainning sport as it works most of the body muscles, for a great fitness training, and it is also super fun to ride waves with it.

Kiteboarding and SUP has been my 2 favorite cross training activities the past couple of seasons and they have been very beneficial to my Wave Sailing. Those sports have helped me to stay in great shape and stay connected to the water while waiting for those perfect windsurfing conditions.

Practicing all these various water sports also keeps my mind open, helps me be ready for anything, and appreciate and respect everybody that I encounter on the water, it doesn't mater what kind of board they are riding.



The ultimate goal is not just to be at your best, but be at your best for ever. I always keep that in mind while training and getting ready for those magical days.

France Race Championship photo report by Seb Cou

Perros Guirec in Bretain held from 6th to 9th of October the 3rd event of French Kite Race Championship. Wind strenght from 20 to 35 knots, waves from 2 to 3 meters and race courses over 15 km long!

After 12 races, RRD Top rider Julien Kerneur won the event and his training and team mate Sebastien Cou finished in second place.

The next event will be in Wimereux (northern France), where Julien and Sebastien will race to keep their 1st and 2nd place on the Overall ranking.

je te fait parvenir les photos et le classement de la 3éme etape du championnat de france RACE, l'etape s'est déroulé en Bretagne à Perros Guirec du 6 au 9 octobre, nous avons eu de grosse conditions entre 20 et 35 noeuds de vents, de la houle de 2 a 3 métres, sur des parcours de plus de 15 km.

Julien finis 1er, et moi 2nd aprés 12 manches, nous nous partageons les places de premier et second (voir classement).

La prochaine et derniére etape aura lieu du 22 au 24 octobre a  Wimereux dans le nord de la France, julien et actuellement premier du classement de l'année et moi second.

Nous aurons egalement la derniére etape du KTE (championnat d'europe) du 26 au 31 octobre.

J'essai de donné des news dès que possible.
